    Today marks the one-year anniversary of my mother’s passing. Grief seems to be washing over me in waves, even a year later, I can hear her call my name and still smell her perfume. I know my mother is pain free and after a year of fighting a glioblastoma in her brain, I am thankful she is resting. I have vague memories of my mom dressed to go out partying, or to go to work, and clearer memories of her at home, working in the yard, tending the garden, absorbing as much nature as she could.
