Matteo and I were out and about a couple of weeks ago and stumbled upon a little know area of Texas. Lake Cypress Springs is a beautiful, hidden little treasure in Franklin County Texas.
With huge Cypress trees every which way you look, a swimming hole, a fishing spot and picnic tables this was a great natural wonderland, in which to spend a spring/summer day. There are bathrooms on site as well, and they were CLEAN yall! We spent some time wandering around, enjoying the wildlife and tranquil views and then broke out our pineapple tablecloth for a lazy picnic.
As we were leaving the area, just down the road we stumbled upon this wonderful gem. A historic roadside park with a working well. Though I wouldn’t want to have to carry water from a well daily, it is fun to pretend that you know what happened back in the days of old and be able to actually touch a piece of history that you don’t see every day. Located on SH37 In Franklin Co, this little park is for sure worth the trip.
